Lindsey Carney is a partner with CARNEY PATTERSON MEADE PLC and has extensive experience as a commercial and residential real estate attorney and business attorney. Lindsey’s practice includes commercial real estate representation in the areas of development, acquisitions and other transactions, as well as sales and leasing, land use and zoning, and general business counsel in the areas of entity formation, contract negotiation and transactions.

Ms. Carney has represented, and continues to represent, developers and other real estate owners, financial institutions and corporate tenants within the Hampton Roads region. She has handled complex real estate acquisitions and has extensive experience in leasing and has represented both owners and tenants in numerous leasing transactions including ground leases. Ms. Carney represents lenders, borrowers and investors in connection with mortgage financing, including acquisition, construction, interim and permanent financing. She has represented multi-family property owners in the sale and liquidation of their portfolios. Ms. Carney has also represented developers in rezonings, special use permits and the negotiation of proffers and the release of encumbrances. As general business counsel to numerous clients, Ms. Carney has advised on entity selection, formation, agreements among members and shareholders, as well as general business contracts. She has also helped numerous non-profit corporations obtain their tax exempt recognition from the Internal Revenue Service.
